Ms. Alev Alatlı, a member of the Presidential “Council on Culture and Arts Policies,” a thinker and writer deeply devoted to Turkey; joined us and our students at the invitation of the Department of Political Science and International Relations at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, YTÜ, to deliver a lecture. She brilliantly discussed the topics of Modernism and Postmodernism and the global developments in this context. The lecture concluded with a question-and-answer session. Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Bahri Şahin, who delivered the opening remarks, presented her with a unique ceramic plate produced at the Yıldız Ceramics and Porcelain Factory—founded by Sultan Abdulhamid II and still in operation today—at the end of the lecture.
