IMPORTANT REMINDER REGARDING EXAMS

Dear Students,

In accordance with the Yıldız Technical University Exam Guidelines, students are required to comply with the following rules during exams.

Rules Students Must Follow During Exams

  • a) Students are responsible for keeping track of the day, time, and classroom for their exams after the exam schedule is announced (on the department website and/or department bulletin boards). They must be in the exam room ten minutes before the exam begins.
  • b) Students who do not have their student ID with them will not be admitted to the exam. Students must place their student ID cards and other forms of identification—such as a Turkish ID card, national ID card, passport, driver’s license, etc.—on the desk in front of them before the exam begins, and these identification documents must remain in a place visible to the proctor throughout the exam.
  • c) Students who arrive in the exam room within the first 20 minutes after the exam begins will be admitted to the exam. No additional time will be granted to these students. Students arriving more than 20 minutes late will not be admitted to the exam.
  • d) Students are required to comply with all instructions and warnings given by the exam proctor. Students who fail to comply with the given instructions will have this violation documented in a report, which may serve as the basis for a disciplinary investigation.
  • e) Unless otherwise specified, students are not permitted to bring cell phones, pagers, walkie-talkies, or other such as cell phones, pagers, walkie-talkies, etc., as well as handheld computers, watches with functions other than timekeeping, any device with computer capabilities, and cutting tools, firearms, or equipment that poses a danger. The exams of candidates who enter the exam room with such items will be deemed invalid.

(As an exception to clause (e), mobile phones, smartwatches, and similar communication devices may be brought into the exam room, but these devices may not be used under any circumstances. Cell phones and smartwatches must be turned off and kept in a place where the student cannot easily access them (bag, coat, pocket, etc.). Students who fail to comply with this rule or use these devices without permission from the exam proctor will be charged with cheating.)
  • f) The exam is considered to have begun when the exam proctor verbally announces the start of the exam and the distribution of answer sheets begins.
  • g) If a student engages in behavior deemed to constitute cheating, the student’s exam is canceled immediately upon the act of cheating. The exam proctor(s) will prepare a report (Appendix 3) regarding the act of cheating.
  • h) Students may not leave the exam room during the first 20 minutes of the exam. If only two students remain in the exam room, both students must remain in the room until the exam ends.
  • i) Students may not leave the exam room until they have submitted their exam papers.
  • j) Exam questions or answers may not be written on any piece of paper and taken out of the exam room. Any attempt to do so will be considered an act of cheating.

We wish you success on your exams.
