History

Founded in 1992, our faculty began offering courses in the 1993–1994 academic year with the Department of Economics, followed by the Department of Business Administration in the 1996–1997 academic year and the Department of Political Science and International Relations in the 1999–2000 academic year. In the 2014–2015 academic year, the Department of Economics, and in the 2018–2019 academic year, the Department of Business Administration began admitting students to their 100% English-taught Economics and Business Administration programs. The Department of Political Science and International Relations continues to offer its programs with 30% of instruction in English, and all three of our departments also offer graduate programs.

Our faculty, which began operations in the Çukursaray building on the Yıldız Campus, later continued its activities at the Aides-de-Camp Office of Yıldız Palace. The Aides-de-Camp Building at Yıldız Palace also housed the Mekteb-i Mülkiye (now the Faculty of Political Sciences at Ankara University) between 1925 and 1936, before it was moved to Ankara at Atatürk’s request. Starting with the 2015–2016 academic year, our faculty began offering instruction in its newly constructed modern building on the Davutpaşa Campus.
