On the 80th anniversary, John M. Keynes’s *General Theory* was reviewed
The Department of Economics at our Faculty formed a panel of three academics—Prof. Dr. Asaf Savaş Akat, Prof. Dr. Ercan Eren, and Prof. Dr. Erhan Aslanoğlu—to evaluate John M. Keynes’s critiques of “Expansionary Economic Policy and Capital Flow Liberalization” as outlined in *The General Theory*, published in 1986. Furthermore, on the 80th anniversary of *The General Theory*, they emphasized and attached great importance to these critiques in the context of the 2008 financial crisis.

A protocol was signed between the “Faculty of Economics and Management at Bogor Agricultural University” and our Faculty at Otağ-I Hümayun on June 3, 2016. The protocol outlines the following areas of collaboration:
- Exchange of Faculty Members
- Student exchange
- Collaboration on research facilities, courses, and e-courses
- Participation in seminars and academic meetings
- Exchange of published research
- Special short-term academic programs
Conference: 2nd Annual International Conference on Social Sciences
The 2nd Annual International Conference on Social Sciences was held June 2–4, 2016, by our faculty. The conference began with an opening ceremony at 10:00 a.m. on October 2 in the Prof. Dr. Murat DEMİRCİOĞLU Conference Hall at our faculty.
Following the opening remarks by our Dean, Prof. Dr. Kenan AYDIN, and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mesut GÜNER, the program continued with a presentation by Prof. Samuel BOWLES from the Santa Fe Institute.

Our Faculty Held the Academic General Board Meeting.
Our Faculty’s General Academic Board meeting was held in the Prof. Dr. A. Murat DEMİRCİOĞLU Conference Hall at 2:00 p.m. on December 6, 2016. With the participation of our Rector, Prof. Dr. Bahri ŞAHİN, the Vice Rectors of YTÜ, and faculty members, the meeting proceeded with a presentation titled “Strategic Plan and Implementation” by Prof. Dr. Kenan AYDIN, Dean of the Faculty.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Bahri ŞAHİN, mentioned ongoing projects related to Yıldız Technical University and expressed his desire to entrust our Faculty with leadership of the Sociopark project.

Mr. Mehmet ŞİMŞEK, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey, visited our Faculty. Mr. ŞİMŞEK delivered a presentation titled “Global Economic Outlook and the Turkish Economy” at the Business Administration and Economy Summit organized by the Business Administration Club. Following his presentation, he answered questions from the audience.
